ABOUT ME

R.A. Macbain was born in the Worth Valley in 1960. After leaving school he joined the British Army and served in various parts of the world including Northern Ireland during the Civil War, West Germany during the Cold War, and also worked on various operations in the middle and far east. He was a freefall parachutist and physical training instructor but it was his specialist trades that saw him propelled around the globe.

Leaving the Military still in his twenties, applying the same dedication and principles he'd learnt from a very young age devoted himself to music and became a professional  musician.

He is an accomplished  modern jazz, blues, and session musician on several instruments..

His interests are varied, from Military history where in the in the past he's given  talks, to martial arts, studied over many  years  in several disciplines.

He says 'Avoiding the stereotype has always been a priority for me. The only thing that  has remained constant is my obsession with physical fitness.'
